On the first day of Christimas...

Hi friends!  I almost have the first day done and I think this may be my most favorite project ever!  And that is saying a lot since earlier today I had the crown, the bird, the top part of the tree and 2 pears all stitched when I realized they were in the wrong spot and had to haul all that work out and I am still loving it.  If anyone is interested, I am stitching this on 40ct Dirty Linen and I am using Classic Colorworks/Crescent Colours Manor Red, The Gentle Art Cucumber and Treasure Braid PB02.  I am also going to need a black later on and I am not sure yet which one I will use, but I will let you all know when I decide.

I also got a few goodies at stitching night tonight.  One of the ladies was given someone's stash who isn't stitching anymore or who was just cleaning some things out and I got 2 small pieces of fabric 25ct dark blue Lugana and a 28ct black evenweave of some sort, a bunch of Mill Hill beads and some spools of Kreinik.  So thank you kind person who donated these things, I will definitely put them to good use! :)

Happy Stitching!

Cars page finish!

Hello!  I am back with a page finish!  Page 7 of 36 is done on Cars and I am happy to be able to put this one away for awhile again!

Here is the close up, you can just see the corner of Sally starting.

And here is the whole thing.

And I made a little start on Plum Street Samplers 12 Days of Christmas freebie, which can be found here on their blog.  I don't know if 40ct was a wise choice but it sure is going to be pretty!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!

Oops! I meant 30th

Hey!  I had a wonderful time yesterday with my stitching group!  And I was totally wrong about what anniversary the Chickadee Guild was celebrating, it was actually their 30th anniversary.  They are a lovely group of talented ladies and I am happy we decided to go over and celebrate with the.

I also had a very good time shopping at Because You Count,  I was able to get the fabric and threads for Plum Streets Samplers 12 Days of Christmas freebie.  I can't wait to get a start on this one.  4 or 5 of us from the guild are all planning to stitch this so it will be fun to stitch along in person instead of just over the internet.  I wasn't able to get the called for threads but I am pretty happy with the 2 I chose and I really wanted to try 40ct so wish me luck on that.

In the 50% off bin I found these 2 jems!  $1.60 each!  And there was at least 1 left but it was the same as one of these and there was also a few other Prairie Schooler charts.  Great find as this designer is retirering.  So if you are in Moncton have a peek or if you are not I do know that Because You Count will mail an order to you at actually shipping cost.

I have decided to stitch Celtic Christmas for a Lavender and Lace SAL starting in the new year and while I was looking at conversions I fell in love with this one.  I don't know if I am prepared for the amount of work it is going to be but I bought the metallic and Wisper thread I will need and 4 out of the 5 beads.  So I feel like I am committing even though the thought of it is scaring me.

These are some of the thread for Halloween Rules by Lizzie*Kate.  Sorry for the cruddy picture they are really much more bright

I always have a look in the remnants bin for little ornament size pieces so I got this little bundle of 32ct linen and the final spool of Kreinik for Titania

And lastly these sweet little scissors.

It was such a lovely day I can't wait until we do it again!!

Happy Stitching!

Cars progress

Hi!!  Quick little post today.  I have had my niece here for 2 days while her family had to go away so I best not spend all my time writing blog posts ha!  I am getting very close to a page finish on Cars only 1 more column to go!

Tomorrow I am heading to Mocton with my stitching group to attend a stitch-in hosted by the Mocton stitching guild as it is their 35th anniversary (maybe 25th but I am pretty sure it is their 35th).
So I will have a little haul to share as we are going to visit the stitching shop while we are over.

I hope you all have a great weekend!!  Happy stitching!

I Ice-dyed some tatting thread

Hello!  I was having fun yesterday, well it was fun up until the point I realized I am a moron and didn't straighten the thread out before I dyed it and just put it in a big heap and threw the ice on it.  It took me about 24 hours to untangle this mess of thread!  Not a straight 24 hours, I had my 8 hours of beauty rest in there somewhere ;)  I spent the whole day today untangling this mess, I didn't do any laundry, dishes, sweeping, nothing.  Poor Thomas is lucky he even got fed today, I was on a mission!   But it is now in ball form and I have even started tatting a bookmark and it is so pretty!  The actual color of the thread is somewhere in between the 2 pictures below.

I started off with white with iridescent sparkles crochet thread.  I was lucky enough to inherit some of my man's grandmother's crochet thread.  I wasn't planning on dying this one but there was some staining on it so I thought what is there to lose?  Anybody have any ideas on a name for this color in case I try to make it again?

Happy stitching,

Cars update

Hello friends!!  I have been stitching away on Cars again.  This is what it looked like last time you saw it.

And here is where I am now.  I am really not sure about these colors but Lightening McQueen looks so good that I am sure they will look fine in the end.

Happy stitching!!

Never trust a 2 year old with your stitching...

Hello stitchy friends!  So this is what your stitching will look like if you leave it alone with a 2 year old.  Not all 2 year olds will be this creative, my own 2 year old doesn't ever touch my stitching.  He doesn't seem to have any interest in it but my little niece Elly was all over this!  Anyway it has been returned to it original state and I am going to have to get her her own stitching to do.

The is a Disney Cars pattern from Etsy but it is no longer available.

Last night was Temari Tuesday and I made this one.

One more Christmas present off the list!

I have been searching for a Halloween tree for awhile and today I found one for $15!  It even lights up!  I am planning to stitch some little ornaments so hopefully next year this tree will be all decked out!  The pumpkin was decorated by my Thomas, the next Michelangelo I am sure, and I bought the little table at Value Village for $4!  I just couldn't let it stay there for $4!  I think I will paint it but I am just not sure what color yet.

Here is my little tree up close.  All the little pumpkins go over lights and I stuck them all on thinking there would be enough to cover every light and once I saw that there wasn't I found out that they don't come off very easily or maybe not at all as I didn't get any back off because I was scared I was going to rip the lights off.  So we are a little pumpkin heavy on one side but with some more ornaments on there I am sure you won't even notice... right??

Thanks for stopping by!!  And if you have a Halloween tree I would love to see it, let me know in the comments if you have a picture of yours any where :)
