Temari Tuesday

Hello Friends!

I had my niece for the morning yesterday so that slowed down my stitching.  All I managed was some of the lighter green up towards the top.

And then to slow my progress even more it was Temari Tuesday at stitching night.  This one was really east to set up but very labor intensive so I spent a good part of today finishing it up but I am so happy with it.  It is supposed to be all one color but I kinda thought it looked like spider webs anyway so I decided to be different.  One of the ladies thought it would be cute to have a spider on it so I am going to keep an eye out for a little spider.

Seven Swans A Swimming

Hello!

I finished of block 7 from 12 Days of Christmas.

And here it is all together.

So after I finished my swans I pulled out Hannah Lynn from HAED.  I am pretty close to a page finish on this one, a good few days should get it finished.

Little boys and black Sharpies

Hello everyone!

Pretty slack day yesterday on Little Wings.  We were busy most of the day and when I finally sat down yesterday evening I noticed a black mark on my fabric.  Made by a 2 year old and a black Sharpie... I was not a happy camper.  My boyfriend works with sheet metal so black Sharpies are pretty common in my house.  When I find them I put them up high but they are the choice writing utensil for my 6 year old so they sometimes wander into the living room and yesterday Thomas found one and had a ball.  The only good thing was it was one mark that looked like this ^, so I got out the Orvus Paste, which is actually horse shampoo or so I am told, and got to work.  I think I was pretty successful.

You can just barely see where it was.  So all is not lost!  I will be on high alert for Sharpies from now on!

So since Little Wings was wet I decided to have a new start to make me feel better.  Do you remember a couple weeks ago when I said I was dying fabric for a new start?  Well if you do this is that fabric.  It is the Joyful World Freebie from The Snowflower Diaries.  I didn't order the threads that were called for, I am just using some threads I already had and I am happy with how they look.  This is such a cute design, you should all go check it out!

Lost fabric update :
I was to the post office this morning to file a lost mail report.  They gave me a phone number and the report has now been filed and if they find the fabric I should hear back in 2 weeks.  If not I guess my next step is to get Paypal involved.

Fingers crossed everyone! :)

Little Wings day 8

Hello friends!

I filled in some more of the white part.  Confetti Town!  I also filled in some of the lighter greens above the white part.

A little update on my lost/stolen fabric.  I heard from Sunny Dyes again.  She had been talking to USPS and since it was sent first class international she can't file a claim.  She told me to go to my post office and file a claim for damaged/missing mail and maybe they can help but if not at least they will know that someone might have stolen mail.  She also offered to sell me more fabric and that she would pay the shipping which is kind of her because she technically doesn't have to do anything.  If I can get my money back from Canada Post I will order more fabric but if not I think I will just be getting my fabric myself from now on and I will have to skip all those beautiful hand-dyed pieces for fear of them getting lost/stolen in the mail :(

The absolutely no good terrible day!

Hello friends :(

Yesterday I received this in the mail.

And this is a close up of that sticker.  "Officially repaired"  ??!!??  They didn't even fill in the info so I could at least track down where it was damaged at!

That envelope was supposed to contain 2 pieces of fabric from Sunny Dyes.  2 absolutely gorgeous pieces of fabric.  The envelope was completely empty except for the packing slip.  I contacted Sunny Dyes to see if there was any insurance on the package and was told that shipping would have been $32 if they would have added insurance and that they are sorry and I have to file any claims through my post office and to let them know how I make out.  I then called my post office to see what all I needed to start a claim and they told me that the shipper has to start the claim process.  I have written back to Sunny Dyes to tell them that but have not gotten any response.  I have also been talking to Paypal as they have buyer protection and they seemed quite willing to help me if I need them.  I really don't want them to take the money from the seller as it really wasn't their fault.  While they could have better packaging then that flimsy cereal box cardboard I know it is the fault of the postal service.  I will let you all know how I make out.

And some good news I have a page finish on Pitbulls.  That makes 4 pages finished.

And I started on the Seventh Day on 12 Days of Christmas.

Thanks for listening to me rant.
I hope the postal service where you are is more trustworthy.

Happy Stitching to you all!

Slow going

Hi Friends!

Yesterday was Little Wings turn again.  I filled in the pinks on the left and I also spent quite a bit of time on the confetti areas.  All that confetti really slows a girl down!

Yesterday I turned Thomas's crib into a day bed, out of necessity since he had broken all the railing that was on the front of his crib anyway.  I was on alert all night for him to fall out of bed or to decide that 3 am was the time to get up but he did great!  No falling out of bed and he didn't wake up until I got up!  I am pretty impressed with my spirted child this morning!  Tomorrow may be a different story.
