Retreat weekend is over for another year :(

Hello my friends!

Happy belated Mother's Day!

I spent this past weekend with my stitching guild at our annual retreat.  We had a ball!  But I am still recovering today from all the excitement.

In between charades, laughing and munching I managed to put a few stitches in on Titania.  I just need to finish her face and the tops of her wings and I will be onto the beading!

I also made a couple new starts.  This one is for the Christmas Ornie SAL Blog for this month.  It is Yuletide by Plum Street Samplers from the 2011 Just Cross Stitch Christmas Special.

My other new start is Hattie Hedgehog by Brooke's Books which is day 5 of the Advent Animals series.  I put in a whole day on her at the retreat so she is almost finished.

I also made a few purchases from Because You Count.  They are a needlework shop from Moncton NB and they come over every year with a few things and they set up a little shop for us.

All in all we had a wonderful weekend and I can't wait for next year!

I hope you all had wonderful weekends too!

Happy Stitching!

  1. Nice Haul!
I'm impressed that you got so much stitching done on your retreat. Sounds like you had a lot of fun.
Your stitchwork is gorgeous. Titania is so delicate and the advent stitch is adorable. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your ornament.

    1. Thanks so much Amy!! It was such a good time! The lodge we go to cooks all our meals so we can just stitch the day away and not worry about anything. Do you go to retreats?

  2. Your retreat sounds like so much. Great progress on your WIPs.Looks like LK is a fav of yours.

    1. It was so much fun Mini! I can't wait to go again next year! Lizzie Kate has a special place in my heart. Until a few years ago I didn't know there were designers. I thought the only cross stitching you could do was kits from the craft store and then I found At Our House by Lizzie Kate and I haven't looked back. :)

  3. Hi there. Who does this cross stitch retreat? I live in Fredericton and I would love to go to a cross stitch retreat in the Maritimes. :)

    1. Hi L! This retreat is put on by my needlework guild. Are you part of the guild in Fredericton? If there is any room left after our guild signs up we invite memebers from other guilds to come. I also know that the shop in Moncton, Because You Count does a retreat in the spring and I think one in the fall too. Let me know how you make out!
