Reliving more of my childhood activities

Hello again!

My sister and I took all the kiddos sledding at my Dad's last night and had a ball.  The weather was warm, everyone had a great time and I even went down the hill a few times.  Thankfully there is no photo proof.

I have started kitting up Deepest Love, the beads and Kreinik have been ordered and I am already to start March 1.

This was my project for guild night this week and I am very happy with my progress since we usually spend more time laughing than stitching.

I am now officially finished all the confetti-heavy bed of straw on The Gift by Blackberry Lane.  Hopefully things move a little quicker on this project now.

Well guys it is finally Friday!!
Happy Weekend!
Hope the sun is shining and you're doing something you love.

Page 8 finish on Cars

Woohoo guys!

I have a page finish!  And from faraway I think it looks really good.  This really isn't an upclose project.

I also added a few more stitches to ABC's of Parenting

Since I finished the page on Cars I have a free day in my rotation which will be going to Save The Stitches, which I am really excited to get stitching on again!

I hope you all are well!

So much for all those years of skating lessons

Hiya!

I hope you are all well!

I went skating for the first time in 15 years yesterday found out that skating is not at all like I remember it.  It was really hard.  I am not entirely sure I want to do it again.  But the boys had fun so I probably will.

I won a giveaway from Crazy Annie's Stitchin.  They are having a monthly wish list giveaway for something under $20 from your wishlist.  There is a survey/questionnaire link that you have to fill out and I haven't been able to find it on their site but I did message them and as soon as I find out where it is I will share the link so any of you who want to can sign up.  And if you don't want to sign up you should still go check out Crazy Annie's, they have great prices!

*EDIT*
This is the link to sign up for the wishlist giveaway - Wishlist survey and don't forget to go visit Crazy Annie's Stitchin bonanza site, the link is above, and sign up and make a wishlist.  If your wishlist is empty they can't pick anything from it to send to you...

I added a few more stitches to The Gift by Blackberry Lane.  I have the bottom pretty much all done, all I have left is the lamb, the border and the verse.

I am about 80 stitches away from a page finish on Cars and I am going to finish it today come hell or high water!

Thanks for stopping by!

The tale of 2 needles

Hello my stitchy friends!

I had a very productive day on Monday.  I finished a whole column on Cars but there was a couple casualties.

Needle #1 just snapped in two.  It was well used as you can see it isn't even very shiny any more.

Needle #2 broke when I was trying to frog a stubborn stitch.

I should also mention that is not blood.  It is the backside of my pattern and is highlighter bleed through...so it is kinda blood, just not mine.

But even with all that trouble I managed to stitch a whole column!

And then on Tuesday I started Rascal Raccoon.

We are stormed in again today.  That makes 3 days of school Brayden missed this week!

I hope the weather where you are is better than where I am!

Slow progress

Hiya guys!

I finished row 7 on ABC's Of Parenting.  Finally.  I hope the rest of the rows don't take me so long or I may never finish this!

I am almost finished the border on the February block for the Joyful World SAL by The Snowflower Diaries.  Hope it matches up!

We took the boys to see The Lego Batman Movie.  It was pretty funny and Thomas is a big Lego Batman fan.  And we extra enjoyed it since the boys had movie money and we had a gift card so it didn't cost us a cent!

Thanks for stopping by!

Quiet days

Hiya!

We have had a week of winter weather here this week but we can't complain too much because we haven't had much snow up until now.

I put some more stitches in on The Gift by Blackberry Lane.  I almost have the bottom finished and I started on some of the grey on the lamb.

I also finished another column on Cars.  Sally has 2 headlights now and only 3 more columns to a page finish.

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Little update

Hello!

I hope everyone is well!  Brayden came down with an ear infection Sunday so we have been laying petty low here.  But I have been managing to get some stitching in!  Yay!

ABC's of Parenting had the yellow around the letter "q" stitching and the letters "lec" and part of the "t" stitched last time I had it out.

Cars had a whole column finished and you can see Sally's mouth if you know where to look.  Not real happy with the colors on her but I wasn't with Lighting McQueen either until I had more of him stitched so I am sure she will look fine in the end.

I also started the border for February on the Joyful World SAL, which is a freebie!  I watched the movie The Reader while stitching for the Stitchers film club on Instagram.  If you would like to join in with us use the hashtag #stitchersfilmclub or head over to http://heatherstitches.com/ , she is hosting the club and doing a mighty fine job!  The movie was really good but dealt with some heavy stuff, definitely not a puppies and rainbow kinda movie.

We lost one of our chickens the other night.  Still aren't really sure what happened but the rest seem to be ok so far.  It will be so nice when it is warm again and they can spend their days outside and we won't have to worry about the eggs freezing.  It is -16 with a -26 wind chill here today so going out to look after chickens wasn't high on my list of things I wanted to do but I did it.  I think I will have some eggs for lunch to remind me of the benefit of having our own chickens and to get me in the mood to head back out in the freezing cold to water them again.

She's Home, She's Home!!!

Hello!  Hello!

Can you tell I am excited?!  Well if not, I am very excited :)

Yesterday I hung Titania on my wall and all was right in my world.  She was framed by Old Crow Weaving & Framing.  They did the most wonderful job of choosing the perfect mat and frame.  I couldn't be happier with how she turned out.  And now I get to stare at her every day.

I have been getting a little bit of stitching done too.  Here is Cassie Cow, which I was able to finish off 6 colors on yesterday.

One more measly word got stitched on ABC's of Parenting

And 23 whole stitches was all I manged on Cars the last day I stitched on it.

I do have a good excuse, I was finishing off a really good book.  It is called Lake In The Clouds by Sara Donati.  It is book 3 in the Wilderness Series.  If anyone is looking for a new series of books to sink your teeth into this is a good one!  The books start of with a lady coming from England to live in a remote village in New York in the late 1700s to start a school for the children of the village.  That is all I am giving you.

And then I started another really good book that is the complete opposite of Lake In The Clouds.  It is called Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and is set in 2044, people are living in travel trailers stacked 40 high because we have run out of room and virtual reality is how everyone does everything.  I.Can't.Put.It.Down.  I was reading it while I waited for my pictures to upload on this post!  Ha!  And it is being made into a movie directed by Steven Spielberg!  Hopefully the next book I pick up is a boring one so I can get some stitching done.

Thanks for stopping by!
