Finish #9

Joy to the World freebie by La Comtesse & Le Point De Croix
Fabric: 28ct evenweave (?) hand dyed by myself
Threads: Red - hand dyed by myself
Green - Moss by Fiberlicious
Started Dec. 29. 2015
Finished Dec. 31. 2015

When I was stitching this my nephew looked at the fabric and says "Oh no what happened?  Let me guess, Thomas!"  I then had to tell him that it was me that made the fabric look like that and I did it on purpose.

I am still not too sure about this fabric but let me know what you all think.  I think it is a little busy and that I should have stitched something on it in a solid color like all white stitching, which I still can do because I have a lot of it left.

Another row on Pitbulls

Hello!
My stitching has been a little lacking lately with Christmas preparations and then I pulled a muscle in my neck one week, then next week I started getting migraines from the pulled muscle.  So a trip to the doctor fixed me all up and I am finally starting to feel like myself again so I spent all day yesterday finishing up this row on Pitbulls.  2 more rows to go and I will have a page finish, but first I am going to stitch another day on 12 Days of Christmas because I would like to have that done for next Christmas since I am now late for this past Christmas :)

Happy Stitching!

Merry/Happy Christmas/Holidays!!!

Hello stitchy people!  Here I am again at the last minute, well the last 8 minutes of Christmas 2015 to be exact, to wish you Merry or Happy whatever you happen to be celebrating or just happy Friday if that is the case.

My boys had a wonderful day of chocolate, sugar, chocolate, a little turkey and more sugar.  So that pretty much sums up the level of craziness my day was.  But we made it through and everyone went to be happy and exhausted.

The boys seemed to like their cross stitches as much as a 2 and 6 year old can be excited by receiving a cross stitch.  Thomas the 2 year old kept telling me "that yours".  It took a little convincing or maybe he just got fed up with me but he ended up taking it and setting it in his pile.  I hope I can get them hung up in their rooms tomorrow.

I hope you all had lovely days today and that your families are happy and healthy and that maybe you all got to sneak some stitchy time in today!

Nothing like last minute

Hello!
I finally remembered today to buy frames for Promise Me by Lizzie Kate.  So between my mother and myself we got these framed.  I wouldn't have anything finished if it wasn't for my mother so thank you Mom!

I also made a couple more Temari Balls.  I hope my Christmas crafting days are behind me for this year.

I hope you all are ready for the holiday season and your families are healthy and happy!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!

Five Golden Ringgggsssss.

Hiya!
Please tell me you all sang the title just like I do every time I say it!!

I finished up the fifth day today, I really enjoyed all the gold in this block which you pretty much can't see in this picture but it is there, I promise.

I also finished a row on Pitbulls.  I am about 99.9% sure my nephew will never find my blog, nor ever want to I am sure, so I will say this.  This is my least favorite project.  The chart is horrid!!  So many symbols look the exact same and that white dog used 12 different shades of white!  Even in real life you can't tell the difference between at least 8 of them.  But it does look quite nice and this is what he chose so I will suck it up and get it done.  But he better love it!!!  I'm just kidding but he at least better like it a lot! :)

Thanks for visiting with me!
Happy stitching!!

Christmas Ornie SAL Blog

Hello again!

I have decided this year to join the Christmas Ornie SAL blog and try to stitch a Christmas ornament each month.  You should all go check it out if you haven't already, they do some beautiful stitching and I am very excited to join them in the new year!

Dropbox

Hello friends!
I don't know if this will be helpful to any of you out there but I feel that it will be super helpful for me.  And maybe you all already know about all of this cloud storage stuff but I have been to scared ever since they (I don't really know who they are...) hacked into the cloud and stole all the naked celebrity pictures.  Not that I have anything near that scandalous to put in the cloud but I guess I felt that it wouldn't stick around since it was so easy to hack into.  I think the hacking issues have been cleared up now though.

Anywhoo, I have been worried lately about something happening to my computer and losing all the pdf cross stitch patterns I have bought or found for free on the web so I did a little research, aka I typed in "best free online storage" on the Googles and they said that Dropbox was the best so here we are.  It was so easy to sign up, literally put you name, email and chose a password.  That was it. I didn't have to tell them my first best friend's second cousin removed's first dog's name or nothing of the like.  I then followed their instructions and moved my patterns into my Dropbox folder and now I can access them over the internet where ever I am at, even if this laptop breaks they will still be there.  I should also add that you do have to download something.  And I approximately have 50 patterns in there right now, 5 of them are Heaven and Earth Designs patterns which are pages and pages and I am only using about 5% of the space I am allowed to use!

If any of you don't have Dropbox and would like to get it I have a referral link that will give you and me 500mb of bonus space!  Click here to sign up.

Pitbulls

Hello stitchers!
I am working on Pitbulls by Flumpkins X Stitch.  Here is where I am at

We had our stitching guild Christmas party last night and it was so much fun, great food, great company, lots of laughs.  I couldn't have chosen a better group of people!  It is going to be hard waiting until January for our Tuesday night stitching to start up again!

I hope you all are having a lovely Wednesday!
Happy stitching!

String stars

Hello friends!
Today I was making some ornaments.  I am not going to call them Christmas ornaments because I think I will find a use for them all year around.

This is the video that shows how to make them.  It is not in english but will give you an idea.

And here is mine.

These are the rest.  They were a little finicky but I think they look great hanging on my garland. I also think they would be really cute attached to the gift tag on a present.

Temari Tuesday #6... I think

 Hello stitchy people!!

We made another Temari Ball at stitching group last night.  I am going to have a hard time giving this one away!

Isn't he cute!!

Since I finished Promise Me I started on the fourth day of 12 Days of Christmas.

I couldn't leave this muchkin out since the other one is in the picture above.  Isn't he just as cute as the other one!!

And our book advent calendar is under way.  I am not much for giving my kids chocolate first thing in the morning like I was given as a child.  (I wonder what things I do now with my boys that I think is ok that they will think is crazy when they have kids.)  Plus the chocolate in those advent calendars is nasty!!  So instead I have 24 Christmas books that I wrap up every year and we open 1 a day until Christmas.

You will notice in this picture that Day 2 book is not at the top of the pile.  Nobody knew where it was, Brayden especially said he really didn't know until Daddy-O said "are you sure you didn't put it in your room"  Yep, there is was between his mattress and the fitted sheet, for safe keeping I guess.  Last place I would have ever looked.  Little stinker!

12 Days framework is done!

Hello stitchy friends!!

I managed today to finish all the borders on 12 Days of Christmas.
No more counting!!
Praise the heavens!!

I am really hoping to get Day 4 finished this weekend.  Wish me luck!

Happy Stitching!

P.S. I read somewhere today that if you polish some toothpaste (the paste kind not the gel kind) into the lens of your camera it will take the scratches out.  Well I tried it and I think that the middle of my picture looks less foggy.  Perhaps this is a poor picture to decide if it did work but hopefully there will be no more foggy pictures!

Three French Hens

Hello!  Happy Weekend!

I have finished Day 3 on Plum Street Samplers' 12 Days of Christmas freebies.  To find the charts just go back through the last few blog posts or there is a link down the right side that says "Sunday Mystery Sampler".  I am really excited for Day 4 because it has black in it so I am interested to see how the black I chose looks with these colors.  But back to Promise me for now.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching :)

Temari Tuesday

Hi!  Last night at stitching was Temari Tuesday so below is the Temari Ball that I made.  This one definitely had the most preparation involved but was really simple once all the divisions were all marked off.  You start with a north and south pole, then you mark off the equator.  From there I am not sure what happened really but the other lines came together some how and it turned out perfect.  Also the guild member who hosted the meeting last night made the most wonderful meringues, they were divine!

And I almost have another row finished on Promise Me.  So it will soon be time to stitch day 3 on 12 days!!  I am a little excited to get back to that project.

Well it is time to go put Thomas down for his nap and hopefully I will get this row finished today.                                                                            Happy Stitching!!!

Two Turtle Doves

Hello!  I have another day done on Plum Street's 12 Days of Christmas freebie.

And I finished a line on Promise Me round #2.  The second line has been started and it seems to be stitching up much quicker the second time around.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Stitching!

Promise Me round 2

Hello again!  I have started my second Promise Me.  My plan right now to get this finished without losing my mind to bordom is to tell myself that every time I finish a line on this one I will do another 12 Days day.  I am not much for doing the same thing over more than once.  I also can't believe what a difference it is going from 40ct to 32ct!  32ct seems so huge now.

I also finished another tatted bookmark.  I don't know if you all will remember the thread I dyed but this is it!  I am pretty pleased with the colors and can't wait to try some more combos.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!

A Partridge In A Pear Tree and a little TUSAL

Hi!  I finished the first day!  Still in love with it :)

And November TUSAL is today.  I have been tatting some bookmarks for Christmas presents so lots of red, white and green orts in there, and since I had Christmas orts I thought my mug that I am using today fit in with that theme.  That is Micah all ready for Santa a few years ago.  She was not too impressed with me ha!

Today is Rememberance Day in Canada and I know it is a special day in other parts of the world also so I included these beautiful words written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
