I was dying! hehe!

Hello!  I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of my dying adventures from a week ago!  We had such a fun day, my friend and I!  We decided to have a dying playdate and we would each decide on one dying technique.  I decided to do Ice Dying.  Here is a great video to show you the process:

The video is kinda wonky and it starts part ways through the process but the beginning is at the end of the video.

My dying partner decided to do Shaving Foam Dying, which I had no idea what was involved but was very intrigued.

These are the two flosses I Ice Dyed and I am so impressed with how they turned out!

This is the Shaving Foam Dying.  All you do is put a thick layer of foam on a tray then drop liquid fabric dye onto the shaving foam the swirl it around as much as you want, then lay your fabric on top, press it gently into the foam, lift it off and scrap the shaving foam off the fabric.  This was the first piece I did.

This was the second with a bit of brown added in.

This was the third with the same batch of shaving foam just swirled up a bit more.

This was my friends shaving foam creation that I stole borrowed so I could have some of her pretty colors for myself.  We traded shaving foam back and forth :)

At the end after she added all those pretty blues, greens, yellows and purples she really mixed the colors into the foam so they were really soft and them made a waving pattern in the foam with a spatula and when she took her fabric off it looked like water.  It was gorgeous!!  If I ever get a Mirabilia mermaid I am definitely going to try to make a piece of fabric like that to stitch them on.  I tried to get some of the wave pattern on this piece but I think it was too dark to catch the soft colors, though you can see some blue and yellow a bit.

And this was my Ice Dyed fabrics.

I had so much fun and I can't wait to do it again!  I was very pleased with the Ice Dying on the floss but I think I need more practice on the fabrics.  The video said you only need a very little bit and I think I was way too heavy handed.  And I really want to mess around with the shaving cream some more, I think there really is lots you can do with it.

Thanks for stopping by, happy stitching!

Beatrix Potter Bunnies update, live from Cavendish, Prince Edward Island

Hi all!! We are camping this weekend and while I am loving the wi-fi at the campsite it makes it not really feel like camping when I can bring the laptop along.

Here is before on Beatix Potter Bunnies by LCStitchery

And the after.  I am close to the halfway mark on this page and I am enjoying stitching it but I can't wait to finish it.  It was supposed to go in my littlest's nursery but since he is about 2 1/2 his nursery days are pretty well over.

This is my view while washing dishes in the camper.
Dad's bbqing hamburgers for lunch and Brayden wanted to model his new bike.
And Thomas was inside with me getting ready for some lunch.  We are having a great time and I don't want tomorrow morning to come because I don't want to pack up :(

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday Brayden!!

Well everybody, I am officially a mom to a 6 year old!!!  How did that happen?!?  And in 2 weeks or so he will be back to school and starting grade 1!  I don't know why time has to go so fast.  :(

But we sure are lucky that we got the best of the best with our Brayden!  He is just the sweetest, most helpful boy there is!  For his birthday day we dropped off a load of wood at his Nona's (my mom) house, which is one of his most favorite things to do, he would spend all day piling wood if I let him.  Then he played with one of the neighbors for a bit and then we ended the day at Dairy Queen for a blizzard for Miracle Treat Day and then to Walmart for a new bike!  He was some proud driving that bike to the checkout!!  I don't think I am going to be able to keep him away from the bike until his party on Saturday!

Happy Birthday my love!! xoxo Mama

My chicks have a house

Hello!  I finally got my house all stitched up.  When I started the house I had it in my head that it would take no time to stitch up but I guess when you count all the stitches in the house you realize that it is going to take some time.

I am pretty pleased with how it is looking and I have added some beads already as the whole design fits in the Qsnap so I don't have to worry about crushing any since I won't have to move it around.
This is only the second time I have ever used beads and while I love how it looks I don't get along well with the beading needle.  I can't seem to thread it half the time and the other half the time I am stabbing myself.  It has been a love/hate relationship with not very much love.

Oh and I couldn't figure out why there would be fences underneath the windows... I thought maybe they are hitching posts?  It wasn't until I was stitching them and I put the darker brown color in that I realized they must be benches.  I guess?

Anywho I am loving the colors, especially the Hand-dyed floss.  This pattern only calls for 3 Hand-dyed skeins with no DMC equivalents so I had to, there was just no other choice.  Ha!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me.  xo
