First TUSAL of 2017

Hello all!

It is TUSAL time again!  Wondering why I am sharing thread scraps?  Head over to Daffycat's blog to find out all about it.

So without further ado, my orts:

This month the projects that contributed to my orts were -

Colin Cardinal by Brooke's Books - completed

Cassie Cow by Brooke's Books - barely started

The Gift by Blackberry Lane - Still plugging away.  This was supposed to be my ornament for December on the Christmas Ornie SAL Blog so I am now 2 months behind.  Eeek!

ABC's of Parenting by Lizzie Kate - made it past the half-way mark!

Cars by a desinger on Etsy who seems to have closed up shop - finished 2 rows!

And that is it for this month.

Happy Stitching!

The 1st Temari Friday

Hiya!

A couple friends and I have decided to start having Temari Fridays once a month and last Friday was the first one.  Here is the Temari Ball I made.

My sister's birthday was last week so I made this one for her.

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Learning to count with a 3 year old

Hello stitchers!

Here is a little progress from the last few days.

I have almost finished the bed of straw on The Gift by Blackberry Lane.

I didn't even manage a whole word the last time I stitched on ABC's of Parenting.  It was a snow day and the children were just out of sorts so I didn't get much done at all.

But the next day I finished another column on Cars.  Right now this is my favorite project to stitch on.  I think maybe because Brayden gets so excited when he sees me stitching on it.

The other day I got a phone call to remind me about Thomas's 4 year assessment and to get his booster shots.  They told me they would be sending out a sheet of activities I was to do with Thomas just to make sure he is developing properly.  If I remember correctly from when Brayden was 4 it was things like hop on one foot, abc's, counting and colors, things like that.  Thomas is pretty good at counting so I wanted to test him.  I held up 2 fingers and asked him how many.  He said "2".  Then I held up 3 fingers and he said "3".  Then I held up 4 fingers and he said "all of them".  Regular old wise guy he is!

Laundry can wait!

Hiya!

Today was grocery day.  Ugh!  But at least it is done for another week.  So to reward myself for getting groceries I am going to leave my laundry and stitch the rest of the day away.

On Friday I started up the left side of the border on The Gift by Blackberry Lane and I am hoping I haven't made any mistakes and the border matches up!

ABC's of Parenting is past the halfway mark and it is still a joy to stitch on.  I am really excited to get it finished though since I have 2 more Lizzie Kates waiting in the wings.

We are being threatened with the strangest January winter storm I have heard.  Starting with snow, changing to freezing rain then ending with potentially large amounts of rain oh and some high winds just for fun.  Usually January in eastern Canada is too cold to go outside but this year we have rain just as often as snow.  Global warming people!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fingers crossed and hope for the best

Hey guys!

Hope you are all well!

So this is my cars progress.  There is a mistake.  I do not know where it is.  All I know is those white stitches are off by 3 in length but I can't figure out where they started going wrong or if they are actually wrong at all.  Anyway I am just going to start stitching the next column and hopefully the mistake will show its self and if not we are just going to try to go with it.

I am so close to being finished of Colin Cardinal that I hope to finish him up tomorrow.  We will see though.

Thanks for stopping by!

Quiet days

Hi guys!

Not much going on here, I look after my nephew a day or two a week and then I had another nephew one day this week so there hasn't been too much excitement here.  Just lots of baby snuggles, which I love!

Here is my progress on The Gift by Blackberry Lane.

And I am so excited to say I am half way finished of ABC's of Parenting by LizzieKate!

I hope you all are warm where it is cold and cool where it is warm.

A long overdue FFO

Hiya!

Remember I said we were going to see Live By Night, well the restaurant was so busy that we didn't get our food until the movie was starting so there was no way we were going to make it.  The food made up for it though.  I got the Mediterranean Platter which had lemon chicken over Lebanese rice, hummus with pita bread, and a greek salad, I am getting hungry just thinking about it!  So we are going to try for a movie another night.

Here is my progress on ABC's of Parenting, almost halfway finished!

I am so so excited to finally have this hanging on my wall!  It is the 2014 Frosted Pumpkin mystery stitch-a-long Once Upon A Time Sampler.  I stitched it in 2014 and then it waited patiently until I took it to my Mama's for her to finish it for me.  I think I am going to ask for a sewing machine one of these Christmas's and learn to use it.  But until then I am very lucky my mom is a seamstress.  She did a perfect job and it makes me so happy to have it hanging in my house.

I worked on Colin Cardinal some more.  I don't know why but it feels like he is taking forever!  He might be my favorite though with his little gingerbread bird house.  Hopefully one more day and he should be finished.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Stitching!

Update!

Hello friends!

Here is my progress from the last few days.

Cars - before picture on top

Colin Cardinal by Brooke's Books - All I had stitched last time you saw this was part of the roof, some of the snow sparkles and the white on one wall.

The Gift by Blackberry Lane - before picture on the bottom

ABC's of Parenting by Lizzie Kate - I don't even know where I was the last time I showed it here.

It was my birthday earlier this week and tonight my man is taking out for supper and a movie.  I think we are going to see Live By Night.  I will let you all know how it is.

Thanks for stopping by!

My exact feelings

A couple days ago Coni from The Spinster Stitcher posted this artwork from Sam Toft and it sums up perfectly the loss I feel from losing our beloved dog Micah.

The verse at the bottom reads:
There is a hole in my heart where you use to be. I`m a boat out of water, a fish lost at sea. A wild windy forest with no favourite tree & a hole in my heart where you use to be.

Does it look like a bed a straw yet?

Hiya!

I added some more stitches to The Gift by Blackberry Lane.  I don't know what it is about this one but I am really enjoying it.

It is cold here today!  -17 with a windchill of -28.  Brrrr!!  I hope you all are warm where ever you are!

Colin Cardinal from Brooke's Books Advent Animals - almost finished the roof

Another new start

Greetings stitchy people!

I have recently been watching the flosstube videos from "The Queen of Starts" and I think I might have caught a touch of her "startitus".  But I think I am recovering and back to my wips for now.

This is The Gift by Blackberry Lane from the 2011 Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue.  I was supposed to have this stitched and finished in December but I had those two Christmas presents that took priority over everything so I am playing catch up this month.

Hope you all are having lovely days doing something fun!

Started Colin Cardinal

Hiya!

I started Colin Cardinal from Brooke's Books Advent Animals on January 2 and managed to get to here:

I am not sure if I am going to keep stitching one of these a month or if I am just going to stitch one after another just to get them finished.  I think I am ready to just get them finished.

Hope you all are having a wonderful day doing something you love!

My New Year`s Start

Hi guys!

This year I decided to start Halloween Rules by Lizzie Kate for my New Year start.  As you can see I didn`t manage a whole lot but I loved every stitch I stitched.

I also had a new start yesterday and am getting ready to start another one today.  Oy!  Thankfully yesterday and today`s starts are just ornaments and not big huge projects like Halloween Rules.

Happy New Year everyone!!  I wish all of you a happy and healthy 2017!
