My chicks have a house

Hello!  I finally got my house all stitched up.  When I started the house I had it in my head that it would take no time to stitch up but I guess when you count all the stitches in the house you realize that it is going to take some time.

I am pretty pleased with how it is looking and I have added some beads already as the whole design fits in the Qsnap so I don't have to worry about crushing any since I won't have to move it around.
This is only the second time I have ever used beads and while I love how it looks I don't get along well with the beading needle.  I can't seem to thread it half the time and the other half the time I am stabbing myself.  It has been a love/hate relationship with not very much love.

Oh and I couldn't figure out why there would be fences underneath the windows... I thought maybe they are hitching posts?  It wasn't until I was stitching them and I put the darker brown color in that I realized they must be benches.  I guess?

Anywho I am loving the colors, especially the Hand-dyed floss.  This pattern only calls for 3 Hand-dyed skeins with no DMC equivalents so I had to, there was just no other choice.  Ha!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me.  xo

  2. It's looking wonderful! Isn't it funny how we think something is a quick stitch then realize there are A LOT of stitches? I do that all the time. Yes, I think those are benches. The beads look terrific; I've never tried beading but am toying with the idea. I hope it gets better for you. Hand dyed floss is fun to use; I just got my first skeins and am loving them!

    1. Thanks Kate! And I am glad I am not the only one who feels I should be able to stitch quicker. :) I really like beading and everything about it except the dreaded needle. You should definitely give it a go! And doesn't hand-dyed floss just make stitching that much more special? It's Mo's floss you just got right? Her floss is just the best and so cheap! I tell everyone they should give her their business!!

  3. What an adorable project. Love those little chickens :D

Lol... I totally overestimate my stitching speed all the time too. It's funny how even the tiniest projects can look so deceivingly simple :) And yes... I'm thinking those are benches too ;)

    1. Thanks!! And aren't they the cutest?! They are supposed to have french knot eyes but I thought it made them look weird so I have left them off.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to stitch as fast as you think you can! I might actually get some of these projects done then haha! Also I am happy everyone agrees with me on the benches, I really like them now that I know they are benches :)

    1. Thanks Felicia!! They sure do add a little something to a project. I don't know that I will ever be a beading pro though haha!
