Oops! I meant 30th

Hey!  I had a wonderful time yesterday with my stitching group!  And I was totally wrong about what anniversary the Chickadee Guild was celebrating, it was actually their 30th anniversary.  They are a lovely group of talented ladies and I am happy we decided to go over and celebrate with the.

I also had a very good time shopping at Because You Count,  I was able to get the fabric and threads for Plum Streets Samplers 12 Days of Christmas freebie.  I can't wait to get a start on this one.  4 or 5 of us from the guild are all planning to stitch this so it will be fun to stitch along in person instead of just over the internet.  I wasn't able to get the called for threads but I am pretty happy with the 2 I chose and I really wanted to try 40ct so wish me luck on that.

In the 50% off bin I found these 2 jems!  $1.60 each!  And there was at least 1 left but it was the same as one of these and there was also a few other Prairie Schooler charts.  Great find as this designer is retirering.  So if you are in Moncton have a peek or if you are not I do know that Because You Count will mail an order to you at actually shipping cost.

I have decided to stitch Celtic Christmas for a Lavender and Lace SAL starting in the new year and while I was looking at conversions I fell in love with this one.  I don't know if I am prepared for the amount of work it is going to be but I bought the metallic and Wisper thread I will need and 4 out of the 5 beads.  So I feel like I am committing even though the thought of it is scaring me.

These are some of the thread for Halloween Rules by Lizzie*Kate.  Sorry for the cruddy picture they are really much more bright

I always have a look in the remnants bin for little ornament size pieces so I got this little bundle of 32ct linen and the final spool of Kreinik for Titania

And lastly these sweet little scissors.

It was such a lovely day I can't wait until we do it again!!

Happy Stitching!

  2. Oh that sampler looks wonderful! I'm envous that not only have a guild but a lace to buy cross stitch supples. I used to love just 'being' in those shops. There is just something about the aura. Where I live in North Texas, if you can't get by the internet you just don't get it.

    1. The guild is wonderful, I wish I had of found them years ago. Have you looked to see if there is one near you? You can look up the embroidery association of America or something like that on google and on their website they have a list of guilds and maybe there is one near by you.

And I love going to Because You Count! I know exactly what you mean, it is just nice to look at things with other people who appreciate them as you do. I don't get to the shop too often though. It is only a 2 hour drive but I have to cross a bridge and the fee to cross is $45, so that makes it an expensive trip! Not too bad though when you have a group of people to split the cost of travel with :)

    1. Thanks Mini!! I only get to my LNS 2 or 3 times a year so I really enjoy it while I am there. And I started the 40ct a little bit ago, picture is on the way soon :)

  4. Beautiful new stash. Sounds like you had a wonderful day! Sometimes I wish I had an "in person" stitching buddy. But I don't hang out with anyone for any reason LOL. I try to limit my online activity as well. Only one SAL this year and probably only one or two next year (still trying to decide).

    1. I don't often start something new for a SAL but if they don't mind me stitching a wip I join as many as I can. I find they motivate me sometimes to stitch on something that I really don't want to stitch on. And I am not really much for hanging out with people either, I have few very close friends but my stitching group is another story. There are 16 of us all together and I enjoy spending time with each one of them. It is nice to be able to share something you love with others who love it just as much :) And my new online/blog friends are very special to me, you all are so kind and encouraging. This blog would be a lonely place without all of you :)
