I Ice-dyed some tatting thread

Hello!  I was having fun yesterday, well it was fun up until the point I realized I am a moron and didn't straighten the thread out before I dyed it and just put it in a big heap and threw the ice on it.  It took me about 24 hours to untangle this mess of thread!  Not a straight 24 hours, I had my 8 hours of beauty rest in there somewhere ;)  I spent the whole day today untangling this mess, I didn't do any laundry, dishes, sweeping, nothing.  Poor Thomas is lucky he even got fed today, I was on a mission!   But it is now in ball form and I have even started tatting a bookmark and it is so pretty!  The actual color of the thread is somewhere in between the 2 pictures below.

I started off with white with iridescent sparkles crochet thread.  I was lucky enough to inherit some of my man's grandmother's crochet thread.  I wasn't planning on dying this one but there was some staining on it so I thought what is there to lose?  Anybody have any ideas on a name for this color in case I try to make it again?

Happy stitching,

    1. Thanks Sarah! And I love the name Tangles. Hopefully this will be the last thing I ever dye that gets tangled like this one did!!

  2. Oooh, I've done that myself in my earlier days of cross stitching. Not a fun predicament.
