Day 27 Hannah Lynn, a 3/4 finish and teeth

Day 27

I finished clue 3 on Halloween Town.  I love their patterns, and I have found that I really like doing projects where the patterns come out over the course of a few months or throughout the year and I think this is something I will continue to do.  It is also fun to belong to the Stitch-A-Long groups.

This last week has been rough.  I thought maybe it was because we just got back from camping and it was taking a few days for the boys to settle back into day to day life.  Then I thought maybe it was because Brayden is starting Kindergarten next week so he was little testy.  They have both been hard to feed which is normal for Brayden, he eats about as much as a baby bird, but Thomas eats like this is his last meal, so it was very weird for him to not be eating.  Then I figured it was because it has been very hot again here but I was wrong.  Thomas is teething... in a bad way.  He has been getting his eye teeth for a last couple of months and  3 are through just the last one to go and when one is coming through he won't hardly eat anything, so this morning I thought I would check to see how that last one is coming.  It still is not through but one of his molars is through!  So eye teeth and molars all at the same time, no wonder he is a bear.  And I think because he is so short tempered with life right now, that is why Brayden has been off because any chance Thomas has to yell at or hit Brayden he does it.  It has become the norm for numerous colossal meltdowns throughout the day and I am developing an eye twitch.

Day 25 & 26 Hannah Lynn and a weekend of camping

Day 25
Day 26 and I am taking a little break from Hannah Lynn while I work on Clue 3 of Halloween Town.
.

These are the only camping pictures I got, the rest are on Jamie's phone.  These were from our second day at the Dundas Plowing Match.  Both boys are having an afternoon nap and I got some stitching done.

We had a great weekend at the plow match.  There was so much to see, horse shows, cow shows, oxen pulls, horse pulls, tractor pulls, plowing demonstrations, a parade, music, cattle penning and lots more.  They even had a couple of rows of potatoes planted that they dug using horses, oxen and I think even an old tractor and they gave the potatoes away to whoever wanted them.  We got a small bag and enjoyed them for supper last night.  We are very excited to go again next year!

And here is my progress as of today.  After this part is finished only one more clue to go.

Day 23 & 24 Hannah Lynn

Day 23

Day 24.  Not much difference.

I finished a book today.  Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill, who is Stephen King's son.  I can't say I have read any Stephen King books, though I do own at least one so I don't know how much alike or different they are, but I really enjoyed this book.  It is rather scary, or was to me anyway.  I couldn't read it before bed or I would have been up all night.  I always have 2 books on the go, one for before bed and one to read while I am waiting for appointments or while the kids are having a bath, so it took my a long time to read because I do most of my reading before bed.  The story goes this man Jude buys a ghost off the internet and then realizes it was a bad idea and then spends the rest of the book trying to get rid of the ghost.  There is a lot more to the story but I don't want to give anything away.  Definitely worth reading if you are into those kinds of books.

Joe Hill has also written another book, Horns, which I have also read but I didn't like it as much, and it is being turned into a movie starring Daniel Radcliff.  Here is the preview:

Day 20-22 on Hannah Lynn

This is all I can show you of day 20.  On my camera I can see the whole picture but when I import it to the computer this is all I get so just use your imagination.

Day 21.

Day 22.  We spent our second night in the camper in the back yard and Thomas got along much better.  The first night he spent in the camper it was 45 minutes of screaming to get him to sleep and last night I rocked him for 30 seconds maybe when he turned his head up for a kiss, which means he is ready to go to bed and I put him in the playpen and didn't hear from him again until 7:30 this morning.  I hope that is how our weekend will go this weekend while we are camping at the Dundas Plow Match.

Happy Stitching!

Perseverance

Day 19 - I decided to keep going with Hannah Lynn and I made great progress today.  I had my nephew for the day so he kept the kids busy playing and I sat and stitched while I watched them.

Also today, or yesterday now I guess, is my biggest's birthday.  I am now officially Mama to a 5 year old as of 11:04pm.  I had been in labor for 2 days before I had him and I was exhausted.  I know the doctors will say you can't be in labor for that long and it wasn't true labor, the contractions weren't regular, but they were strong enough to wake me up every time I had one.  But he was worth every one!  He is a wonderful little boy and I really don't know how I got so lucky to end up with 2 great boys!

Happy Stitching!

It's been a rough week - Day 16-18 on Hannah Lynn

Day 16
 Day 17
 Day 18
I think I need a Hannah Lynn break.  I noticed tonight that on that black part I messed up by adding one stitch extra about 1/5th of the way up and I am NOT!! hauling that out.  So my plan is to just stitch right over top of the black, and I think it will be ok as long as it isn't a light color, the black shouldn't really show through.

And this parking business is getting to be a hot mess.  I love how you can really see things coming together with the parking, but it is a time keeping all these threads straight.

Tomorrow my boy turns 5!  I couldn't have picked him out better myself.  We had his party on Sunday, just a BBQ with family and friends and we all had a really good time, but I am happy that is over.  Who knew planning a 5 year old birthday party would be such a big job.

Today my head wasn't on straight.  I was making lunch for the boys and the deep fryer was on the stove, so to make room for the pan I pushed the deep fryer over a bit.  I ended up dropping the pan on the floor and scalding hot pizza sauce ended up on my foot.  Now while I was cleaning that up I noticed smoke coming from the bottom of the deep fryer, apparently when I pushed it over, it turned the knobs on for the burners and I melted the bottom of the deep fryer.  Thankfully it wasn't plugged in because it melted the electric cord too.  So no fries with the works for me today.  :(   Sometimes I wonder how I get myself dressed properly in the morning.

Happy Stitching!

I can Hip Hop, Bee Bop and YoYo myself a mean cuppa cocoa

I still watch Mrs. Doubtfire every time it is on tv and probably laugh harder now that I am older because I understand the jokes.  He will be missed.

Day 13-15 Hannah Lynn

Day 13

 Day 14
Day 15.  I spent today at a stitch in that was hosted by one of the ladies in the guild.  She has a beautiful home over looking the water.  I had to sit with my back to the windows so I wasn't tempted to stare at the water the whole day.  I didn't get much accomplished but I had a wonderful time chatting and laughing all day.

Tomorrow is my oldest's birthday party, so wish me luck.  Happy stitiching!

Day 10 Hannah Lynn & August Once Upon A Time

On Busy Lizzie's blog I read about how she was diagonally stitching her Heaven and Earth design and using the parking method and I thought I would give it a try.  Below is how I marked my pattern.

This is a wonderful video showing the parking method.

This is my day 10 progress on Hannah Lynn.

Here is my Thomas relaxing on Micah.  She must be the most patient dog in the world!

My August block for Once Upon A Time.

Almost done!  And I am in need of a new camera.  The middle of all my pictures is funky because the lens on my camera is scratched, but we just bought a camper so as long as the camera is still taking pictures it will have to do.  Happy Stitching!

Scrapbooking stitching

I need to get some of these big stitches finished so I can do some small pieces.  I tend not to want to stitch small designs because living with 2 small boys does not work well for displaying small pieces.  Things in this house need to be bolted to the wall or they become toys or weapons.  But Danielle from Stitcherista scrapbooks her small finishes and they are beautiful!  I think I might give cross-stitch scrapbooking a try.
